Sesame Street + T-World + Threadless Alumni Collaboration!
A few months back, the folks over at T-World asked me if I could curate a Sesame Street t-shirt with the Threadless community for their 40 year anniversary. I asked the Threadless Alumni if they wanted to participate. 22 Threadless artists signed up including Ian Leino who curated the piece! We were assigned Grover.
Grover’s love of travel is such a great metaphor for the way that he’s impacted people all over the globe that we wanted to build on that idea for our collaborative design. The concept was that each artist would design a travel sticker to represent where they live, to show the wide-ranging affect that Grover has on people all around the world over the past 39 years.
Once we settled on a composition and color palette, the project was opened to any Threadless alumni that wished to participate. As the stickers came in, they were gradually added to the illustration of Grover and a dramatically oversized suitcase, until we arrived at the final design that you see on the following pages, comprised of the work of twenty different artists working from six continents.
Hope ya like it!
